Attention all you would-be modern Ponce de Leon sailing explorers of The Mark Twain Lake!  If you wish to discover Florida, like ole Ponce did, and its jeweled treasure of The Florida Winery,  routed and sailed by water, then listen up!

Just follow the maps.  The old route for Highway 107 offers a perfect docking site of asphalt as it submerges into the Lake. (Blue dot in photos) It is located directly across the lake, south of Boat launch 107. (seen in distance in photo of lake #5.) A short walk up the cleared roadway which becomes The Mark Twain Birthsite Trail will lead to the Birthsite of Mark Twain.  The Florida Winery is immediately before this park (labeled as parked car). The water depth is deeper on the west side of the landing site.

The Florida Winery assumes no liability in providing safe passage to the Florida peninsula, and does not necessarily insure the navigability of the Lake at different water table levels.
